Sounds interesting eh? K, its really not as dramatic as you’d think. We attended my cousin’s wedding on Sunday (10/10/2010) in Alexandria at the Carlos Creek Winery. It was fun seeing my family, Grandma and cousins again…it seems like my family rarely gets together so it’s a lot of fun to see everyone. It was a gorgeous day and probably one of the best weddings I have been to in a long time. Short, outdoors (bugs were kinda bad, but who cares!) and at a winery, very, very cool! We stayed at a local townhouse/hotel in the area and attempted to visit the water park Monday morning before heading back home, but it was closed – figures. It was hard to disappoint William, but he got over it quickly. He wore his swim trunks and swim diaper all the way home!
Secondly, I had a doctor appointment to meet my delivery doctor on Monday afternoon (shortly after we got home from Alex). A little frustrating as he was running about 45 minutes late, but I really like him so we waited, impatiently, especially Will who was getting very antsy in the small room. This doctor also delivered Will so I already know he’s a laid back guy, literally coming to deliver Will in his t-shirt and jeans. He pushed on my belly and sure enough a few moments later our little guy kicked him back! He’s got attitude already and he’s not even out of the womb! The doctor guessed he’s probably around 5 lbs right now, which is good, but if everything I read is true that means if I carry him to term he could be 10 lbs by the time he’s born. I certainly hope not, OUCH!
The cop reference has absolutely nothing to do with the weekend events. Last night we went out to run errands and we came to find out there was a sting in Elk River at a busy intersection. There was a plain dressed man standing at the intersection, we thought he wanted to cross and we soon found out he was a cop watching to see if we had our seatbelts fastened (the “click it or ticket” campaign is TRUE). Andrew is not a seatbelt wearer, I’ve always tried to get him to do it more consistently so needless to say they flagged us into a parking lot where 3 other cars were also pulled over and where there were about 6 cop cars with their lights flashing. Nice, it looked like we were part of a drug bust. We only ended up getting a warning, luckily, and it wasn’t even for the seatbelt it was for my expired tabs. I knew if I got pulled over I would be tagged for that, but we seriously couldn’t round up the cash until just this last weekend. So the state system still had them as 2010, as they didn’t show paid yet, but we REALLY did pay for them only a couple days ago, despite the fact they were due in July! The cop was a nice guy and William was very good while we waited for the cop to run Andrew’s license. Believe it or not I nearly cried, just thinking of the ticket we may get on top of the cost of the tabs and on top of all that being very preggo and uncomfortable. We should’ve told the cop we were on our way to the hospital (by way of Wal-Mart)!
